Southern California Edison (SCE)
Sentinel Science provides on-call services for Southern California Edison throughout their entire service area. We have provided key leadership roles for nesting birds and construction monitoring on SCE’s Roads and Civil Operations CEMA Storm Response Repair Project (RCO) and Major Environmental Projects (MEPs) including: ANF West (ANFW), Control Silverpeak (CSP), Devers to Palo Verde 1 (DPV1), and North of Magunden (NOM).
Our biologists have performed an extensive volume of special status species and nesting bird surveys, and biological monitoring for all of SCE’s Vegetation Management and Deteriorated Pole Replacement Programs.
Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas)
Sentinel Science provides on-call services for Southern California Gas Company (SoGalGas). We have provided key personnel for leadership roles, and an extensive volume of surveys and monitoring on numerous SoCalGas Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP), and Operations and Maintenance projects.
Project Examples include: Line 404 (botanical, nesting bird, Least Bell’s Vireo and California Gnatcatcher surveys, and biological monitoring), Line 406 (nesting bird and Crotch’s Bumble Bee surveys, and biological monitoring), Lines 115, 324, 765, 225 – 335, Sandyland Cove, and Bell’s Canyon (nesting bird surveys and biological monitoring), Line 1005 (Crotch’s Bumble Bee surveys and biological monitoring).
Our biologists have been instrumental in the development of SoCalGas’ Crotch’s Bumble Bee survey protocol.
Roads and Bridges
Sentinel Science biologists and archaeologists have provided biological, cultural and water resource surveys and monitoring for a number Caltrans roads and bridges fuel reduction projects.
Project examples include: State Route 60, Interstate 215, State Route 23, and State Route 27 in Los Angeles County, and Interstate 280 in San Mateo County.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)
Sentinel Science provides on-call services for Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). Our biologists have performed nesting bird surveys and biological monitoring in support of PG&E’s Vegetation Management, Wood Management and High-Volume Quick Turnaround (HVQT) Programs. We have also provided desktop biological and cultural resources reports for PG&E.
Other Projects
Sentinel Science provides the fieldwork and has authored the Biological Assessment Reports at a number of real estate development projects in Riverside, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, including the city of Malibu. We assist homeowners, architects and developers work through the process of environmental permitting with the local jurisdictions and Coastal Commission.
We have performed the fieldwork and authored National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Biological Assessment, and Nesting Bird Reports for wireless telecommunications projects throughout the state of California.
Sentinel Science has provided the environmental expertise for a number of other projects including solar, wind and battery storage projects, on-location movie scenes, Mr. Beast YouTube projects, airport projects, and others.
